Mastering Pre-Processed, Running and Conditional Totals in Crystal Reports

Creating totals in Crystal sometimes can be a challenge. Let's say you've grouped your data and the report requires you to count the number of groups. Or you might have to summarize a numerical field that occurs just one time per group.

Sometimes you need to create a summary report showing totals only when a condition is true. For example, count the number of inventory items by part number but only for those parts purchased before a certain date. Or consider the report that requires you to number the line numbers within each group. Have you ever tried to total a total? Sometimes it works and some times it does'nt. The way around this problem is to create a "manual total". 

The ability to create and use totals is essential if you are to become a proficient Crystal Report writer. This and more will be covered in this unique two-hour class.

This is an advanced class. We will not cover basic Crystal Report concepts. In order to get value from this class you must be familiar with the following concepts:
Creating a report using the standard report template.
Inserting fields, creating text objects, grouping data.
Creating simple formulas
